Cheers to a prosperous and fortune filled 2014

This is my very first post for this awesome year we've just entered into, i know i'm a bit late, its been quite a long festive season.  It feels like I'm still trying to catchup with myself.
There's just a feeling about this year thats assuring,  that everything is ok...Really!
I can't wait to see what these times have in store for us and more so, i can't wait to be a part of something extraordinary, magical, something beautiful.
For myself, i wish to be a blessing to someone, to count and really see my own blessings.  To learn from and contribute to something significant.
To share love, positivity, hope and all those amazing things that make life worth living.  To be lead by love and experience love in all its wander.
To be exited and surprised, to be supportive where I'm needed, to enjoy and appreciate support when its mine to receive.  To grow and learn with grace and maturity.
To abide by my favour resolution of all...To continue following my dreams;D
Cheers to a fortune filled 2014.

I love these shades, they also happen to be one of those gifts that work:D
I've had them for years now and I'm still not tired of them, I love how they are awkwardly big for their cylinder shape.

I  found this amazing twin breast waste coat in the men's section recently. I think it fits perfectly, I love what it does on the shoulder

My obsession with all things plastic is something I thought would have been just a phase, now iv resigned to accepting that its just one of those things about me. I'm attracted to its impracticality when it comes to apparel, it almost feels naughty...I like that.

Now i own three pairs of these jelly wedges, I know it might seem a bit indulgent, but in my defence this pair was also a gift, so I can on be held responsible for the other two pairs.  I love the ankle strap...the bow is just too cute.

Breaking the rules!

For this look i decided to break some rules just for fun, and to also see if my attempt at wearing a mix of items that are generally not worn together would work.
I mixed a structured Tuxedo tailored jacket with a 'I heart NY' vest i got from my older Virgo when she went out there some time back, i love this vest, i think it makes for a perfect gift.
I then wore my favourite pair of leisure pants, i really wanted to be comfortable but still look put together, so to added a pair of my favourite heels right now to make the whole look seem dressed up.
Sometimes i think accessories are the first and most important part of any look, i wore a Peter Pan pearl necklace to liven up my vest and a long chain with a bird pendent.
I think my accessories did a great job of making my vest a strong focal point of the whole look.

My style

You've got mail!

It all started with a piece of fabric I found on sale at one of my favourite fabric stores late last year, they only had one and a half meters to spare of this absolutely gorgeous piece of textile.
So I bought the fabric thinking I'd have to make something simple but also dressy, and the garment would also have to allow me to use most of the 1.5meters because I needed to have all of this material used for the garment...I loved it so much.
This high waist African print skirt is the result of that days deliberation.
Later on, I was fortunate enough to find this neon neckpiece to add to my accessories drawer, I think its very tasteful and the colour adds enough of an edge for me to be sold on it.
I picked up this structured sling bag during the neon phase.  I can be a "trend slave" sometimes, I think there's a method and smartness in mastering how to follow a good trend well.
I have to admit though, I'm really glad I still have enough feelings for this bag to be using it still, I'm still not too sure about it, its one of those items I feel like belong to someone else, it hasn't settled in with me yet.
Non the less, we are still together and going strong.
I finally decided to get myself a pair of barely there heels...I know!
I have to admit, it took my younger Virgo years to convince me to finally get a pair, for some reason I persistently thought they where to simple for me to pull off. She'd always said they are a must have for any female that might enjoy a moderate to extreme dress up session at times.   She insists that they posses the special power of making any foot, I mean any foot, look feminine...Looks like she was spot on from the door!

My Style

Something old, something new, something borrowed and nothing blue!

I bought this green shirt years ago, it was a good idea at the time but as the years went by it just lost its place in my style heart:( until i decided to bring it back to life by adding a variety of citrus hue buttons to the collar, button stand and cuffs...Genius.
Coupled with this Zebra detailed necklace makes it all the more special, i think i might have outdone myself*claps once*...Something old!
Once again...Gifts that actually rock my world:D
I got this monochrome, black and white tassel hand bag from a dear friend of my who recently had the opportunity to work in Hong Kong for a few months, he brought this fabulous bag back for me.  It turned out to be one of the most beautiful bags i have in my closet...Something new!

I loaned this perfectly fitting short black cardigan from my Kido, it really takes my outfit all the way.  Im still secretly working on taking it of her hands should my steak of luck continue to serve me as well as it has, but honestly, i seriously doubt i'll win this one any time soon.  Fortunately, patience is one of my many virtues*wink*...Something borrowed!

To finish off this look, i wore a high waist pleated skirt with a white leather belt that clearly isn't meant to be worn on natural waist, but i just had to find a way considering my collection of belts was only offering this one as the perfect option for this look.

It was a bit cloudy out so i decided on this pair of patterned black stockings and a pair of patent leather ankle boots which haven't grown old since i bought them three years ago...Nothing blue!
